Easy 13 Bean & Beef Chili!

This delicious chili is so simple to make, thanks to Bob’s Red Mill 13 Bean Soup Mix. Serve with cornbread for a perfect gameday feast! -serves 5

Ingredients:

  • 1 ¼ cups Bob’s Red Mill 13 Bean Soup Mix

  • 2 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

  • 1 medium Onion, chopped (about 1–1 ½ cups)

  • 1 clove Garlic, minced (about 1 tsp)

  • 1–2 Tbsp Chili Powder

  • 1 tsp Sea Salt, plus more to taste

  • 3 cups Water

  • 1 lb Ground Beef

  • 1 pinch Ground Pepper, to taste

  • 2-8 oz cans Tomato Sauce

Instructions:

  1. Rinse soup mix before using. Heat oil in a large soup pot over medium heat. Add onion and saute until soft, 7–10 minutes. Add garlic, chili powder and salt and saute until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add soup mix and water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook until the beans have just begun to soften, about 60 minutes.

  2. Meanwhile, brown beef in a large saute pan; season to taste with salt and pepper. Add browned beef and tomato sauce to the beans and simmer for 1 hour. Adjust consistency with more water, if desired.

*add organic carrots, celery, and bell peppers for even more heartiness and flavor!
