Easy 1,2,3 Pickled Vegetables
Pickling veggies is easy as 1,2,3!
Fill a wide-mouth glass jar with washed and cut veggies and 1 teaspoon Frontier Herbs Pickling Spice Blend along with any desired fresh herbs like dill or thyme.
Place 1 cup vinegar, 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon salt, and 1 tablespoon granulated sugar in a small saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the salt and sugar. Pour the brine over the vegetables, filling each jar to within 1/2 inch of the top. You may have some extra liquid.
Allow the jar to cool for a few minutes before covering it. Then let it rest on the counter until it has cooled to room temperature. Transfer the jar to the refrigerator. These will improve with flavor as they age so try to wait at least 48 hours before cracking them open!
-serve these with cheese and crackers, mixed into salads, added to sandwiches, burgers, bbq, or just enjoyed on their own.
