3 Delicious Pear Recipes!

Pear and Goat Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, with an amazing balsamic glaze. Sweet and savory all in one bite… Go ahead, try to eat just one!

Serves 2

Ingredients:

· 4 slices of bread, sourdough is delicious

· 2 oz goat cheese (or more, depending on your taste and the size of the bread)

· 1/2 organic pear, seeds and stem removed (not too ripe)

· 2 teaspoons balsamic glaze (you can add some fig preserves for added deliciousness!)

· 1 tablespoon butter, room temperature

-fresh sprouts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Spread goat cheese on each sandwich half. Drizzle each sandwich half with about a teaspoon of the fig balsamic glaze. Thinly slice the pear on a mandolin. Place the pear slices on top of the drizzled goat cheese. Top the sandwiches with the second slice of bread. Spread a bit of butter on both sides of the sandwiches.

2. In a large skillet, cook the grilled cheese sandwiches over medium heat for about 3 minutes per side, or until the bread is a nice golden brown and the goat cheese softens and starts to melt. Remove from heat, slice in half, add a few sprouts, and enjoy!

 

This Pear & Arugula Salad tastes fresh & clean!

Serves 4

Ingredients:

· 2 organic pears bosc or other firm pear

· 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice freshly squeezed

· 6-8 cups organic arugula fresh, rinsed and spun dry

· 2-3 ounces Parmesan cheese shavings

· 1/3 cup organic walnuts toasted and chopped

· 2-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

· sea salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1. Halve and core the pears. Slice thinly and place in a bowl along with the lemon juice. Set aside.

2. Place the arugula in a large platter or bowl.

3. Add the Parmesan shavings, the pears and the toasted walnuts.

4. Drizzle with the olive oil.

5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Toss together and serve immediately.

 

This Pear Ginger Mocktail is a quick and nutritious drink for any occasion. It energizes and refreshes you at the same time!

Serves 2-4

Ingredients:

· 1 whole organic pear (seed removed)

· ½ tsp ginger powder

· 1 tbsp. cane sugar

· lime wedge

· 2 ½ cups pure coconut water

Instructions:

1. Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend smooth.

2. In a bowl/plate combine 1 tbsp. cane sugar and 1 tbsp. ginger powder and shake it well. Rub the rim of your choice of glass with lime wedge. Dip the glass rim into the ginger mixture.

3. Fill the ¾ of the glass with crushed ice. Pour the mocktail into the glass.

4. Garnish with lime wedge and serve immediately.
